Terms of use
Effective 12 September 2026 · Last updated 12 September 2026
The short version. vurctube is open-source software you run yourself. It comes with no warranty. It acts on your instructions, using your own Google Cloud project, so what it does on your channel is your responsibility, the same as if you had done it in YouTube Studio.
1 What these terms cover
These terms apply to the vurctube software and to this website, vurctube.com. vurctube is an independent open-source project maintained by Vurctne. By using the software or the site you agree to these terms.
2 The software and its licence
vurctube is currently pre-alpha and not yet released. When it is published, it will be released under an open-source licence; the Apache License 2.0 is planned. The licence text that ships with the software governs your rights to use, copy, modify and redistribute it, and takes precedence over anything here.
3 No warranty
The software and this site are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not promise that the software is free of errors, that it will keep working as Google's APIs change, or that any action it takes will have the result you intended.
4 Your responsibilities
- You create and control the Google Cloud project, the OAuth client and the credentials the software uses. Quota, audits, verification and anything Google asks of that project are between you and Google.
- You are responsible for complying with the YouTube Terms of Service, the YouTube API Services Terms of Service and the YouTube API Services Developer Policies in how you use the software on your channels.
- The software acts only on instructions you or your agent give it. Every change it makes to a channel is made under your authorization and is your responsibility. The backup, dry-run and approval features exist to help you review those changes; using them is up to you.
- You are responsible for keeping your credential files secure on your own machine.
5 Google and YouTube
vurctube is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Google LLC or YouTube. YouTube is a trademark of Google LLC. The software uses YouTube API Services, and your use of it is also subject to the Google Privacy Policy.
6 Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the maintainers of vurctube are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the software or this site, including lost data, lost revenue, changes made to a channel, quota exhaustion, or any action taken by Google or YouTube against a channel or project. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including the Australian Consumer Law.
7 Changes
We may update these terms. The current version is always at this address, with the date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
8 Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
